Loren was found on highway 25 North of Greenwood, SC. The poor girl was trying to run but struggling because of some old injuries. When her rescuers stopped to see what they could do to help she just collapsed. She was too weak to even chew a piece of bread or even drink water!

Loren's rescuers took her back with them to Augusta, GA and immediately took her to the vet. Even though she was extremely hungry, she came around very well. The vet said she's in good health overall, but she did test "low positive" for heartworms. Due to her age, the preferred method of treatment is to give her monthly heartworm pills. Loren needs to put on a little weight as well.

The vet said Loren could use a nice "retirement home" and some good ole TLC. She is on monthly flea preventative, up to date on shots, and spayed.

Loren's rescuers feel like she has been very well loved most of her life. We can't imagine what brought her to such a scary plight. Loren will do well in a quiet loving environment where she can live out her remaining years in comfort and without fear. Click on her pictures to see how much difference just one day can make.
